London: Sketching, Chai and Paneer. A life update.

London: Sketching, Chai and Paneer. A life update.

Here’s your monthly update, this time it features London for the most part because I’ve spent half April walking and enjoying my first holidays in more than 10 years. Alas! It’s been a while also since I was in London, and this was my first time travelling alone there. It’s a whole other story. Tune into the playlist of the month while you read:

I’ve spent most of my days going to museums to draw, and in between I tried a lot of new (and not so new) foods and restaurants.

I went to Dishoom for the first time and I ended up going four times during my stay. I went for the food and then stayed for the Chai. I made a little routine of chai and drawing there. It’s been really nice.

If I had to add a title for this journey it surely would include the words “Sketching, chai and paneer” because no matter what. I ended up eating paneer, drinking chai and sketching somewhere. I’m so grateful for all that I experienced there.

But the best part was that I visited my aunt and uncle. I’ve missed them a lot. My aunt has visited Coruña a couple of times, but I haven’t seen my uncle in years. I’m glad I could spend some quality time with them.

The nicest thing about travelling alone is that you get to know what kind of activities you crave. When you sort of forget about responsibilities, you figure out what your soul is craving. Mine was seeking calm, and that I achieve by drawing and writing while a drink a warm cup of anything tasty. Getting inspired by other people’s art is a must for me too.

Being a creative person means that you usually focus on producing more than consuming, and when you get the chance, it’s very nice to feel the inspiration overload.

I was lucky to be there while the London Marathon took place. I walked alongside the runners for a while. Being a runner myself it felt so good. Actually that same morning I went for my weekly run. If you want to follow a little bit more of my journey in travelling I usually add stories about it on my Instagram.

I’ve never been in a Marathon before and it felt so good. Being an empath, I felt all the hype from the audience and was so excited. It was a very different and nice experience.

I also had a gig there, so for the last weekend, Carlos came and we had a couple of things on our wish list. Like eating a Salt Beef Bagel in Beigel Bake and going to some areas we really enjoyed all those years we spent part of our winters there. The weather this time, even in April, felt like winter to add to our nostalgia.

Even though I ate balanced and light foods, whenever I travel I get inflamed and dehydrated. London water makes my skin get so dry that I was craving my showers in Galicia and the simplest foods when I came back.

I’m still having steamed foods most of the time and salads when the weather is warmer. It seems like my body had a food overload after the Forum experience and all that London restaurant food.

I’m already planning my next trip and I know it’s going to be soon. I’ll keep you all updated in this summaries. Have fun and keep fooding!
