March Playlist ๐ง – Monthly blog update ๐
February has been good to me. I usually feel like life begins in March each year, but this year life started again in February.
We released our new album and I’m still “suffereing” the consequences. I’m not kidding as much as I should. It’s been interview after interview, rehearsal after rehearsal and workdays that last ages. But that is my happy place.
Here is our newest music video. The song is on the playlist for this month too. I am quite fond of this one.
March promises being even better. I’m starting new projects and working on the new stuff coming up, not only in music, but also this webpage. I love being a hardworker.
Don’t be confused though. I love hardwork, but I need rest. And I am working hard (ironic) to add rest in between all the chaos. I’m a firm believer in rest. Even if I don’t practice it as often as I’d like to.
Here, in Galicia, trees are sprouting already and I can’t wait to start planting seeds. I am craving that gardener vibe. I’m sure this year everything will grow bigger. I have one more year of experience ๐ ๐ฑ
About the photos and food for the past month. I didn’t make as much as I usually do. I have this thing that when I focus on work I forget about the rest. Maybe I might start considering taking photos of my food as part of my job, so I’ll do it all the time.
But, you know…I don’t really like forcing things. I let them come to me naturally and some times I make dozens of photos, others I just play drums or workout…I don’t really focus on why I do it or what should I do. I just do it.
Being a shorter month, February passed in the blink of an eye. Here in Galicia, we have a strong tradition around Carnaval. I’ve always related that celebration with eating pancakes and Lacรณn con grelos (Salted pork with turnip greens). It’s widely known as Shrove Tuesday. Or, you know, pancake day. Here you have a good pancake recipe in case you were craving some โบ๏ธ
Lucky as I am, I was gifted a huge bag of turnip greens that I myself picked with my lovely neighbour. If those weren’t the most incredible turnip greens I’ve ever eaten…oh my goodness! They were sweet and tender, and…perfect! ๐
I ended up eating them every dinner for a week. Afterwards I added some vermicelli to the liquid and ate it as a soup. I enjoyed that dish a lot too. I am soup people. I’ve said it on my previous post, I rest my case.
But that’s not all, I love leftovers because I can use them in many different ways. I made an empanada that tasted delicious, with the same liquid and then adding some kale, peppers and onion. It was twice as good because of the baking dish I used. I am mastering the art of breadmaking day after day.
I hope you enjoy this month’s playlist. It starts with some calming tunes and grounding songs. I think that’s a good way to head towards Spring, by grounding ourselves.
Enjoy those couple of tunes from our newest album that I added. I love both of them, two of my favourites from the whole work. If you want you can listen to in this link or buy it here. Not trying to sell you my work, but I’d be glad if you had it ๐โจ
As I keep saying, have fun and keep fooding. Make sure you check out some of my recipes. It’s the perfect time to bake something before the cold weather leaves us. These baked tomatoes are a great idea:
Or these empanadas:
Craving something sweet? Try this raw vegan carrot cake. Although it’s served cold, I find it comfortably warming at the same time, perfect for in between Winter and Spring โ๏ธ ๐
